Berlin defends DEL title

The Berlin Polar Bears capped off a perfect season by beating the Dusseldorf Metro Stars 4-2 in Game 4 to win the DEL championship. For two periods it looked like the home team was going to force a fifth and deciding game as Adam Courchaine's two goals had staked them out to a lead. Steve Walker tied the game on the powerplay just 53 seconds into the last frame after Dusseldorf took a penalty at 19:59 of the second period. That goal seemed to change the game as Andy Roach scored the go ahead marker in the seventh minute, once again with the man advantage. Nathan Robinson then put the final nail in the coffin. The win was a sweet one for Berlin coach Don Jackson who beat his former team in the process.
