The future of the Nuremberg Ice Tigers is on thin ice and could be determined as early as today. Volker Böhm, in charge of bankruptcy proceedings, has asked creditors of the club to forego up to 70% of their receivables. If the creditors do not agree, that will force the club to open bankruptcy proceedings and would mean the end of the club's membership in the DEL. Böhm is hopeful, however, that the creditors will agree with his plan since they will only receive 25% of their receivables should the club go bankrupt and that would only be the case if the league found a club to replace them. Otherwise, the payout could even be reduced to only 5%.
