Dusseldorf Sets the Record Straight

After much speculation in the media, the Dusseldorf Metro Stars of the DEL have once again gone public to clarify their situation and quell rumours of "financial chaos" in the club. According to club officials, from 2002-06 a positive balance allowed for the pay down of outstanding debts and also the improvement of their minor hockey system. Profits from those years also helped to pay for upgrades to the ISS Dome. In addition to these positive developments, it was stressed that all outstanding debts and salaries have been paid up to date. On the negative side, the drop in attendance had not been anticipated and naturally has led to decline in gate receipts. In their opinion, there is, however, no immediate risk to the club.
