Calce's trick stuns Bietigheim

German-Canadian Luigi Calce was the hero with a hat-trick as visiting Heilbronn downed arch rival Bietigheim 5-3.

With their goalie pulled for an extra attacker, Bremerhaven tied the game on a goal by Pierre-Luc O'Brien then Chris Stanley potted his second of the match in overtime giving the Penguins a much-needed 3-2 win over Schwenningen.
Kevin Young was the only successful shooter on both teams as visiting Crimmitschau upset Munich 2-1 in a shootout. Andy Contois sent the game to extra time with his third period marker while Neville Rautert continued his hot scoring for the home team.
Kyle Doyle assisted on three goals and Jamie Chamberlain and newcomer Brady Leisenring had markers in leading Hannover to a 5-2 win over fellow cellar dwellers Freiburg.
Mark McArthur posted a shutout and Garrett Bembridge scored the game's only goal on a powerplay as streaking Riessersee nipped the Tower Stars in Ravensburg 1-0.
