Shannon McNevan to focus on manager duties

Canadian Shannon McNevan who acted as player/manager last season for Herne in the German Oberliga has decided to hang up the blades to focus all his attention on his manager duties with both Herne and Duisburg of the Bundesliga. McNevan is part-owner of Herne and that club has a partnership agreement with Duisburg which recently received the green light to play at the second-highest level. He plans to keep fit should circumstances arise where one of the teams needs an emergency replacement.
